Proposed E-Cigarette Ban Actually A Backdoor Boost To Pharmaceutical Companies


Electronic cigarettes vaporize a water-based solution that gives the user the sensation of smoking while emitting only a light water vapor. This eliminates the public concern of secondhand smoke as well as cutting out all the carcinogens associated with tobacco and the chemicals used in tobacco cigarette production.

Many doctors believe that halting this far less harmful smoking alternative would, ironically, save the pharmaceutical companies that market smoking cessation products billions of dollars a year.

FDA Faking Electronic Cigarette Reports

The electronic cigarette debate became viral about June of 2009 after the FDA publicized a report on smokefree cigarettes and their associated nicotine containing solution e juice determining them as harmful as they contained toxins considered dangerous to humans. The e cig camp fired back by hiring a renowned analysis firm to examine the FDA report and the methods utilized to reach their findings. This firm found the findings obtained by the Food and Drug Administration research was invalid because the screening methods they utilized were far from those necessary to produce these types of conclusive determinations.

So at present, over a year later, what exactly have we learned concerning the safety of electric cigarettes? Well, quite simply, nothing has changed. Both sides on the controversy still maintain their statements are accurate. In the end, the electric cigarette buyer remains in the dark regarding the health and safety of the electric cigarette. Evidence Suggests E-cigs Are Safer Than Cigarettes



In a new report that bucks the concerns raised by the Food and Drug Administration, a Boston University School of Public Health (BUSPH) (sph.bu.edu) researcher concludes that electronic cigarettes are much safer than real cigarettes and show promise in the fight against tobacco-related diseases and death.

The report reviewed 16 laboratory studies that identified the components in electronic cigarette liquid and vapor. The authors found that carcinogen levels in electronic cigarettes are up to 1,000 times lower than in tobacco cigarettes.

The Electronic Cigarette Gains Approval In Many Hospitals As Debate Continues


While the debate about electric cigarettes continues, more and more hospitals are allowing their use on their property, quietly showing what ground level doctors think about the products.
Last July, the FDA issued a warning regarding the electric cigarette and it appears the public and medical industry just aren't buying the story at a time when the public distrusts the government more than at any other time in history. On the heels of that announcement, Action on Smoking and Health (ASH) in the United Kingdom released a favorable position on E-cigarettes stating; "E-cigarettes, which deliver nicotine without the harmful toxins found in tobacco smoke, are likely to be a safer alternative to smoking. In addition, E-cigarettes reduce secondhand smoke exposure since they do not produce smoke."
